The Kingston & Area Association of Museums, Art Galleries & Historic Sites, Inc. (KAM) is committed to respecting the privacy of individuals and organizations. KAM recognizes that the need for privacy is paramount by those with whom we do business (members, stakeholders, volunteers, funders, partners and the general public).
KAM staff, volunteers and the Board share the full responsibility for the appropriate management and protection of any personal and/or business information that is provided to us. Our Information Management Policy includes guidelines on the collection, use and storage of personal and/or business information as follows:
Collection: KAM voluntarily adheres to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), 2004, (Canada); the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) 1998, 1990, (Ontario); and the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) 1991, (Ontario). All information is collected by fair and lawful means. KAM will limit the collection and use of personal and/or business information to that required for valid business purposes or to comply with legislation.
Use: Personal and/or business information collected may be used for statistical purposes and internal reference. Personal and/or business information will not be disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of the individual or organization or as required by law.
Storage: KAM will store personal and/or business information collected by using electronic or other means in such a way as to prevent unauthorized collection, access, use, disclosure or disposal of the personal and/or business information.
